Original Swedish Dala horse, Snowboarder Dala horse produced specially for Vasaloppet, an annual long-distance cross-country ski race held on the first Sunday of March. The 90 km course starts in the village of Sälen and ends in the town of Mora in northwestern Dalarna, Sweden. Hand-carved from Swedish wood and hand-painted in Dalarna, the famous Swedish province.
Dala horse is a traditional carved, painted wooden statue of a horse originating in the Swedish province of Dalarna. In the old days, it was mostly used as a toy for children, while in modern times, it has become a symbol of Dalarna, as well as of Sweden in general.

Recycled wood is used for the production of the horses and all the paints used are certified as safe for the environment. All Dala horses are hand-carved and handmade.
