This Dala Horse is made in the 1930s in Dalarna, the heart of Sweden, presumably by one of the "Slam-boys". The "Slam boys" were brothers, carpenters at Hölgärd, Sweden: Slams Nils (1910-1976), Slams Rikard (1913-1971), and Slams-Folke (1920-1999). They carved special "lining back" horses from a split piece of wood and always in red-orange bodies.
